The Picard Group is pleased to announce that Helen Dwight has joined the firm as Senior Director of Health Policy. Dwight will work in the firm’s federal practice in Washington, D.C., along with Hunter Hall, Catherine Lenz, and Trè Nelson on behalf of healthcare clients.
With more than 15 years in Washington, D.C., she is a seasoned governmental affairs and healthcare thought leader who has navigated the ever-changing dynamics of the private and public sectors, turning complex policy and political challenges into actionable strategy.
Prior to joining The Picard Group, Dwight spent seven years in the pharmaceutical industry, most recently leading the federal affairs team for Otsuka America Pharmaceutical. During her tenure, she represented Otsuka’s interests with Congress, the Administration, trade associations, and third-party coalitions, developing and executing strategies to ensure continued patient access to mental health therapeutics. Before Otsuka, she spent several years at AstraZeneca, where she drove advocacy efforts on everything from hospital pricing strategy to the company’s COVID-19 vaccine response. Dwight has collaborated across several cross-functional teams to execute engagement strategies to protect and defend the healthcare industry against harmful policies, as well as sought out opportunities to strengthen the innovation pipeline for future therapeutic development.
Dwight began her career on Capitol Hill, where she worked for nearly a decade for several Congressional offices on the House Energy & Commerce Committee, shaping major legislation to combat the opioid crisis, championing rare disease issues, and drove reauthorization of the nation’s biodefense infrastructure and rapid-response programs.
“We are thrilled to have a person with Helen’s experience, reputation and record of accomplishment, both on Capitol Hill and in corporate boardrooms, joining our federal team,” said Tyron Picard, CEO and Managing Partner. “Her depth of relationships in the business and political world will be a valuable asset to The Picard Group and its clients.”
