Nick Cahanin.

Nick Cahanin is Partner at The Picard Group. Cahanin has worked in public service since 2007 and specializes in all aspects of state and local government. He served as Director of Intergovernmental Affairs in the governor’s office, acting as a liaison between the governor, local elected officials, and the Louisiana Legislature. During his tenure with the governor, Cahanin also served as a Policy Advisor and Deputy Director of Legislative Affairs.

Prior to working in the governor’s office, Cahanin served in the United States Marine Corps during the Operation Iraqi Freedom Campaign in Fallujah, Iraq. Cahanin is a decorated combat veteran and infantryman of Operation Phantom Fury. His tenacious, competitive spirit, coupled with intense self-discipline, has led to successful completion of multiple iron-distance triathlons and marathons across the United States. Cahanin is a board member of the Beaver Club of Lafayette, a board member of the Foundation for Wellness, a member of One Acadiana, a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church Men's Choir, and a Platinum Level Hero for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital since 2019. 

A native of Rayne, Louisiana, Cahanin graduated from Liberty University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Management and Accounting, and the University of Louisiana, earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA). He is married and has two beautiful daughters.
