Christian Matherne serves as Local and State Affairs Analyst for The Picard Group.

Matherne supports our senior lobbyists with servicing clients, monitoring meetings, assisting and organizing events, policy research and analysis, and general legislative relations in Louisiana. Prior to The Picard Group, he interned in Washington, D.C. with Senator Cassidy, focusing on economic and finance policy, specifically Healthcare Financing and Energy Regulation. He also interned with Sunwater Institute on Congressional Reform researching legislative rules and procedures

 

Matherne also spent his last two years of college working as an intern for The Picard Group during Regular Louisiana Legislative Sessions, gaining an understanding of the state governmental and legislative landscape, as well as building relationships with stakeholders and lawmakers. He has also gained experience on the campaign trail as a volunteer for multiple elections.

 

Matherne graduate from Tulane University with a bachelor's degree in Political Economy with a concentration on law, economics, and policy. He recently relocated from New Orleans to Lafayette.
