Christian Matherne serves as Director of Governmental Affairs for The Picard Group.

Matherne supports our partners with legislative lobbying, public affairs monitoring and communications, coordinating engagement opportunities, policy research and analysis, and general government relations. With a public policy educational background, Matherne has worked on various issues, including taxation and economic incentives, regulation of energy production and natural resources, procurement, and appropriations for state entities.

After gaining policy expertise in think tank and congressional opportunities, he spent his last two years of college working as an intern for The Picard Group during Regular Louisiana Legislative Sessions, gaining an understanding of the state governmental and legislative landscape, as well as building relationships with stakeholders, lawmakers, and executive agencies, particularly Louisiana Department of Revenue, Louisiana Economic Development, and Louisiana Department of Health.

Matherne graduated from Tulane University with a bachelor's degree in Political Economy with a concentration on law, economics, and policy. He resides in Lafayette.
